I had my first follow up appointment with Dr. Dutta today, my surgeon. My goodness, he is a great surgeon! I don't like to think of myself as a "negativist" so to speak, but I keep waiting for something to go a bit wrong. I feel honestly blessed and happy that it hasn't. My scars are great, I don't have pain, and I can start to eat a few more things than just soft stuff...you all have NO IDEA how happy that makes me! I've been craving chicken...mmm....sounds SO good right now! Oh...but I have to wait to go get any, as my tuition check hasn't cleared yet, but when it does....I am on my way to the grocery store! Oh, just in case you were wondering, I've lost 20lbs. since my surgery. VERY nice, yes!?
This is a bit of a subject change...but here goes anyway...
I had forgotten that the morning of my surgery as I was WALKED into the operating room, I told everyone a joke before they put me under. The last thing I remember...them belly laughing! What a nice way to check out! I'm certainly glad I checked back in though! I think I forgot to even tell my brother this next little tidbit. My anesthesiologist was a doppelganger for my brother Jake. It was so weird! Tall, dark red hair, freckles, the mouth, nose, and eyes were so similar. I knew it wasn't Jake though, I tried to joke with him, and it fell flat. If I had told my brother Jake that someone had once called my liver fat, he would've said something snarky about the fact that that wasn't all was it?! Ha, that makes me laugh! One of the best things about Jake is his humor! Even my mother noticed the similarity right away. The other anesthesiologist...I had TWO, aren't I special...was LDS, and recognized my mother's Ensign opened, and not even to the cover. He was also a very nice man! Somehow I feel good knowing that he was there...I'm sure that's silly, but feelings mean a lot, I think.
Well, I'm off! Have a wonderful day!~
